February 27 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Serb Republic attracted 14,968 foreign tourists in January, up 17.4% year-on-year, the entity's statistical office said on Monday.
Foreign tourists spent 45,330 overnights in the Serb Republic in January, which represents an annual increase of 10.5%, the Serb Republic's statistical office said in a statement.
Most foreign tourists who visited the Serb Republic in January came from Serbia (5,507, down 6.3% year-on-year), followed by 3,279 tourists from Croatia (up 14.4%) and 1,836 tourists from Slovenia (up 84.7%).
The total number of tourists rose 10.8% on the year to 26,495 in January. The overall number of overnights increased 0.7% to 70,767.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
