March 23 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Turkey rose by 3.76% on the year in February, reaching 1.73 million, data from the tourism ministry showed.
Turkey attracted a total of 3.52 million tourists in the first two months of 2020, up 9.68% compared with the same period in 2019, figures showed.
Istanbul attracted 962.15 million visitors or some 55.5% of all international arrivals in February.
Edirne followed with 212.85 visitors or 12.28% of the total number. Antalya came in third, attracting 174.76 international visitors, or 10.08% of the total number of arrivals.
Tourists from Germany accounted for 9.18% of all foreign arrivals, with the number of visitors from this country reaching 159,084 in the month under review. In February, Turkey attracted 152,344 visitors from Bulgaria, or 8.79% of the total number of international tourists, and 132,539 from Georgia, or 7.65% of the total figure.
