BELGRADE (Serbia), August 30 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in July went up 5.2% on the year to 215,866, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia increased by 5.3% year-on-year, to 457,654 in July, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office.
In the first seven months of 2019, the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 4.9% year-on-year to 970,699, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 6.8% to 2,148,189.
Turkey was Serbia's biggest feeder market in July, with 22,086 tourists, up 9.3% on the year. Chinese citizens followed, up 50.3% to 16,273. Visitors from Bosnia came third, up 24.3% to 10,982.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 6.1% on the year to 175,521 in July, taking the total number of tourists to 391,387, up 5.6%.
