BELGRADE (Serbia), April 30 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in March grew 7.2% on the year to 112,034, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia rose by 11.6% year-on-year, to 257,290 in March, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office.
In the first quarter of 2019, the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 4.5% year-on-year to 275,476, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 8.3% to 686,455.
Bulgaria was Serbia's biggest feeder market in March, with 11,696 tourists, up 20% on the year. Bosnian citizens followed, up 16.6% to 9,874. Visitors from Croatia came third, up 3.7% to 8,174.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 4.4% on the year to 121,268 in March, taking the total number of tourists to 233,302, up 5.7%.
