BELGRADE (Serbia), June 28 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in May edged up 0.3% on the year to 164,016, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia slightly increased by 0.1% year-on-year, to 336,856 in May, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office.
In the first five months of 2019, the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 4.3% year-on-year to 1,292,751, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 5.5% to 3,550,395.
China was Serbia's biggest feeder market in May, with 15,583 tourists, up 30.9% on the year. Bosnian citizens followed, up 14.6% to 13,391. Visitors from Slovenia came third, up 11.6% to 10,732.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 6% on the year to 220,824 in May, taking the total number of tourists to 384,840, up 3.5%.
