October 15 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to North Macedonia totalled 55,101 in August, up from just 7,195 in the same month last year, the country's statistical office said.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in North Macedonia rose to 134,197 in August 2021 from 21,534 in August 2020, Makstat said in a statement on Thursday.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in August, 17.2% came from Serbia, 10.4% from Poland and 7.6% from Romania.
Domestic tourists numbered 129,024 in August, up from 126,509 in August 2020, as they spent 686,066 overnights, up from 663,185 a year earlier.
