June 30 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Montenegro in May nearly tripled to 97,108 from 38,957 in the like period of last year, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The total number of tourists who stayed in the country in May increased to 111,455 from 47,042, data from the country's statistical office showed.
Tourist overnights more grew to 333,068 from 103,172 in May 2021.
Visitors from Germany and Serbia accounted for 13.3% of all overnights in May each, followed by tourists from France with a 12.9% share, the United Kingdom with 8.7%, Kosovo with 4.7%, and Israel with 4.1%.
Seaside resorts accounted for 86.4% of all overnight stays, followed by capital Podgorica with 8.8%, other tourist resorts with 2.6% as well as mountain resorts with 2.2%.
