January 31 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Montenegro in December was 84% higher on the year at 31,187, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The total number of tourists who stayed in the country in December increased by an annual 71% to 39,786, the statistical office said in a statement.
Total tourist overnight stays grew to 85,984 in December from 54,194 on the year, with overnights spent by foreign tourists accounting for over 72.6% of all.
Visitors from Serbia accounted for 16.8% of all overnights in December, followed by tourists from Albania with a 14.2% share, and Germany with 10.2%.
As much as 68% of all overnight stays were spent at seaside resorts, followed by the country's capital Podgorica with 22%, mountain resorts with 6.4% and other resorts with 3.8%.
