March 10 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia totalled 115,000 in January, an increase of 55.9% compared to the same month of last year, the statistical office said on Friday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourist in Croatia rose by 34.1% on the year, to 349,000 in January, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Local tourist arrivals rose 15% on the year to 114,000, and the number of overnights by local tourists increased 3.2% to some 253,000.
Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia reached 15.3 million last year, up 44% compared to 2021, according to figures released earlier by the same office.
Tourism is a key industry for the Croatian economy, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
