May 5 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia totalled 273,051 in March, an increase of 42.8% compared to the same month of last year, the statistical office said on Friday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourist in Croatia rose by 22.1% on the year, to 682,028 in March, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Local tourist arrivals rose 22.3% on the year to 151,332, and the number of overnights by local tourists increased 18.4% to 300,451.
Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia reached 15.3 million last year, up 44% compared to 2021, according to figures released earlier by the same office.
Tourism is a key industry for the Croatian economy, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
