June 9 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia totalled 870,483 in April, an increase of 35.6% compared to the same month of last year, the statistical office said on Friday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourist in Croatia rose by 21.5% on the year, to 2.5 million in April, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Local tourist arrivals rose 15.5% on the year to 220,346, and the number of overnights by local tourists went up by the same rate to 494,415 in April.
Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia reached 15.3 million last year, up 44% compared to 2021.
Tourism is a key industry for the Croatian economy, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
