April 7 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia totalled 143,264 in February, an increase of 23.8% compared to the same month of last year, the statistical office said on Friday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourist in Croatia rose by 16.5% on the year, to 389,565 in February, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Local tourist arrivals rose 17.7% on the year to 129,235, and the number of overnights by local tourists increased 11.1% to 261,765.
Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia reached 15.3 million last year, up 44% compared to 2021, according to figures released earlier by the same office.
Tourism is a key industry for the Croatian economy, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
