June 11 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia increased 19.2% on the year to 933,712 in April, as 2019 Easter holidays contributed a large portion of the increase, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Croatia rose 20.7% on the year in April, reaching 2.583 million, the statistical office said in a statement.
In 2018, only two of the four days from Good Friday through Easter Monday fell in April.
In April 2019, the number of Croatian tourists increased by 3% year-on-year to 172,287, while overnights they spent rose 4.9% to 392,613.
Overall, 950,572 domestic and foreign tourists visited the Adriatic state in April, up 16.4% compared to the same month of 2018.
Tourists from Germany accounted for 20% of all overnights of international visitors, followed by Austria with 10.8%, Slovenia (9.9%) and Italy (6.9%).
