April 27 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists visiting Bulgaria rose by 10.5% year-on-year in March, reaching 524,300, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
Citizens of EU member states contributed 48.7% of all arrivals of international visitors in March, the NSI said in a monthly report on tourist numbers.
Vacation trips accounted for 39.2% of all foreign tourist visits in March, while business trips made up 20.4%.
The number of people who visited friends or relatives in Bulgaria or just transited the country accounted for 40.4% of all arrivals of foreign nationals in March.
