August 27 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Bulgaria in July dropped 3.2% on the year to 2.083 million, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday.
Citizens of EU member states made up 60.1% of all arrivals of international visitors in July, down by 5.2% compared to the number recorded in the same month of last year, NSI said in a monthly report on tourist numbers.
Vacation trips made up 55.5% of all foreign tourist visits in July, while business trips accounted for 7.8%.
The number of people who visited friends or relatives in Bulgaria or just transited the country represented 36.7% of all arrivals of foreign nationals during the month.
In July, most foreign visitors to Bulgaria came from Romania, Turkey and Germany.
