November 9 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Bosnia in the first nine months of 2017 grew 18.1% on the year, reaching 743,478, according to official data from the country's statistical office.
The total number of tourists staying in the country in the first nine months of 2017 increased by 13.7% year-on-year to 1,025,975, data posted on the website of Bosnia's Agency for Statistics showed.
Total tourist overnights in January-September increased to 2,136,036, up 12.6% year-on-year. Of them, foreign tourist overnights accounted for 72.8%, or 1,555,832, up 16.1% on the year.
Visitors from Croatia accounted for 10.2% of all foreign tourist overnights in the first nine months of 2017, followed by visitors from Serbia with a 7.7% share, and from Turkey with 7.6%.
In 2016, the number of foreign tourists who visited Bosnia grew by 15% year-on-year, reaching 776,889, while the total number of tourists staying in the country increased by 12% to 1.15 million.
