October 20 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Bosnia in the first eight months of 2016 grew 13.8% on the year to 535,972, the statistics office said on Thursday.
The total number of tourists staying in the country in 2016 through August increased by 11.4% year on year to 775,479, the statistics office said in a statement.
Total tourist overnights in January-August totalled 1,639,102, up 10.4% year-on-year. Out of them, foreign tourist overnights accounted for 70.3%, or 1,152,230, up 14.5% on the year.
Visitors from Croatia accounted for 10.8% of foreign overnights in the first eight months, followed by visitors from Turkey with a 8.9% share, and from Serbia with 8.5%.
