October 26 (SeeNews) - Albania attracted 761,544 foreign tourists in September, compared with 494,332 which visited the country in the same month last year, the country's statistical office said.
Foreign tourist arrivals reached 6.4 million in the first nine months of 2022, up 31.8% compared with the same period a year earlier, the statistical office said in a statement on Tuesday.
In September alone, the number of domestic tourists rose to 447,123 from 299,678 in September 2021. Overall, the total number of domestic and foreign tourists came in at 1.2 million in the month under review, compared with 794,010 in the same month in 2021.
In 2021, the total number of foreign nationals who visited Albania jumped 114% year-on-year, reaching 5.7 million.
