June 8 (SeeNews) - Albania attracted 402,051 foreign tourists in April, compared with 241,015 in the same month last year, the country's statistical office said.
Foreign tourist arrivals reached 1,073,261 in the January-April period, compared with 754,859 in the same period a year earlier, the statistical office said in a statement.
In April alone, the number of domestic tourists rose to 430,869 from 225,268 in April 2021. Overall, the total number of domestic and foreign tourists came in at 832,920 in the month under review, compared with 466,283 in the same month in 2021.
In April, Albania attracted 107,436 visitors from Kosovo, 54,638 from North Macedonia and 49,539 from Greece.
In 2021, the total number of foreign nationals who visited Albania jumped 114% year-on-year, reaching 5.7 million.
