BELGRADE (Serbia), July 2 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in May grew 19.7% on the year to 163,466, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia rose by 20.7% year-on-year, to 336,571 in May, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office on Friday.
In the first five months of 2018, the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 13.5% year-on-year to 555,455, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 14.2% to 1,236,539.
Turkey was Serbia's biggest feeder market in May, with 13,002 tourists, up 19.2% on the year. Chinese citizens followed, up 82.1% to 11,908. Visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina came third, up 8.1% to 11,687.
The number of domestic tourists increased 10% on the year to 208,286 in May, taking the total number of tourists to 371,752, up 14.1%.
