October 4 (SeeNews) - The number of visits by foreign passenger cruise ships to Croatian Adriatic ports rose 3.3% year-on-year to 466 in the first eight months of 2019, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
The number of passengers the ships carried on those visits increased 6.9% to 732,826, the office said in a statement.
Passenger cruise ships sailing under the flag of Malta accounted for the highest number of cruise journeys to Croatia in January-August (137), followed by the Bahamas with 79. The biggest number of passengers who arrived in Croatia - 184,273, travelled on board of vessels sailing under Panama's colours.
The Adriatic city of Dubrovnik was the most popular destination for foreign cruise journeys to Croatia in the review period, followed by the ports of Split and Zadar.
