ZAGREB (Croatia), August 16 (SeeNews) - A total of 58 foreign cruise ships made 240 journeys to Croatian seaports in the first half of this year, rebounding from the same period of last year when only 6 cruises visited the Adriatic country on 15 journeys due to COVID-19-related restrictions, the country's statistical office said.

There were 189,000 passengers on board the cruise ships that visited Croatia in January-June 2022, up from 8,203 in the same period of last year, the statistical office said in a monthly report last week.

Compared to the same period of 2019, the number of journeys of foreign cruise vessels was lower by 11.8% in January-June 2022, and the number of passengers on board on those vessels was down 53.9%.

In the first six months of this year, foreign cruise ships on journeys to Croatia visited the port of Dubrovnik 152 times, Split followed with 107 visits, Zadar with 55 ones and Hvar and Korcula with 31 visits each.
