SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), July 16 (SeeNews) - Bosnian carrier FlyBosnia will launch in September direct flights from Bosnia's capital Sarajevo to London in the U.K., directly connecting the two capitals by air for the first time in ten years, local media reported.
The airline also plans to start operating flights from Sarajevo to Italy's Rome and France's Paris, news portal Klix.ba reported on Monday, quoting FlyBosnia's CEO Tarik Bilalbegovic.
FlyBosnia currently owns two Airbus A319 aircraft as by mid-2020 its fleet should have two more aircraft, klix.ba said. The company plans to have eight aircraft by 2023.
The air carrier flies to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.
FlyBosnia was registered in November 2017. Its founders are the local representative of Saudi Arabia's Al Shiddi Group - Nudzejma Skenderovic, and its director Sulaiman Abdullah Al Shiddi.
The Al Shiddi Group is the largest Saudi investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It owns Sarajevo City Center, Hotel Bristol Sarajevo and luxury residential complex Poljine Hills.
Bosnia was left without a flag carrier after BH Airlines first lost its operating licence and then its assets over large debts.
