January 10 (SeeNews) - Germany-based intercity bus service FlixBus saw its passenger numbers soaring last year in Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia, its division for Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) said on Friday.
In Croatia, the number of passengers serviced by FlixBus jumped 79% to 1.4 million in 2019, FlixBus CEE South told SeeNews in an e-mailed statement.
In neighbouring Bosnia, the number of transported passengers tripled last year, while Slovenia recorded a growth of 31%, FlixBus said without providing passenger numbers.
FlixBus started operating in Serbia in July 2019.
FlixBus, founded in 2013, operates a bus network serving more than 2,500 routes in 30 countries.
FlixBus along with FlixTrain and recently launched FlixCar are brands operated by FlixMobility, which acquired in late 2019 Turkey's top bus provider Kamil Koc and entered the Ukrainian bus transport market. FlixBus has been active in the US since 2018.
Last year, FlixMobility serviced 62 million passengers, up by 37% compared to 2018, the company said.
