March 29 (SeeNews) - Romanian waste management and recycling group Fepra plans to invest 15 million euro ($16.2 million) by 2030 to develop the circular economy in the country, it said on Wednesday.
The company will partner with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the investment, Fepra said in a press release.
FEPRA said that it aims to increase plastic packaging waste recycling volumes by over 20,000 tonnes per year and set up a national network of partners and 50 centres to collect over 450 tonnes of waste plastic per month, thus offsetting about 360 tonnes of CO2 per month.
"With the support of EBRD, we have succeeded in designing a solid strategic plan and a new governance system to increase our internal capabilities and processes in the following years," said Ionut Georgescu, founder of Fepra.
The Fepra Waste Division Group was established in 2013 and is dedicated to helping local and international businesses accelerate their sustainability journey.
