March 28 (SeeNews) - The inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Albania rose to 1 billion euro ($1.1 billion) last year, compared to 936.8 million euro in 2020, according to central bank data.
On a quarterly comparison basis, FDI increased to 302.2 million euro in October-December, from 260.4 million euro in the July-September period, central bank data showed on Friday.
The biggest volume of foreign investment in Albania in the fourth quarter, of 96.4 million euro, originated in the Netherlands, followed by Italy with 36.4 million euro and Turkey with 23 million euro.
The sectors which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in the October-December period of 2021 were mining and quarrying with 99 million euro, real estate with 50.2 million euro and financial and insurance with 37.9 million euro.
