September 24 (SeeNews) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Albania edged up 1.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2021, to 234 million euro ($274.1 million), the central bank said on Friday.
The net inflow of FDI increased by 2.4% in the April-June period, compared to the previous quarter, the central bank said in a report.
The biggest volume of foreign investment in Albania in the second quarter of 2021, of 64.3 million euro, originated in the Netherlands, followed by Italy with 32.7 million euro and Turkey with 25.1 million euro.
The sectors which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in the April-June period were mining and quarrying with 55.2 million euro and real estate activities with 49.5 million euro.
The inflow of FDI in Albania fell by 13% year-on-year to 933.3 million euro in 2020.
