March 1 (SeeNews) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) into North Macedonia totalled 512 million euro ($574.6 million) last year, compared to a net inflow of 239.8 million euro in 2020, central bank data showed.
In the fourth quarter alone, the country registered a net FDI inflow of 197.1 million euro, as compared to an FDI inflow of 95.3 million euro in the like period of 2020, central bank data showed on Monday.
Intercompany lending made up the bulk of total direct investments into the country in 2021, as the net inflow of this component totalled 201.5 million euro.
Investments in equity came in at 172.9 million euro and reinvestment of earnings totalled 137.6 million euro last year.
