August 18 (SeeNews) - Foreign directs investment (FDI) in Bosnia and Herzegovina totalled 971.2 million marka ($505.2 million/496.6 million euro) in 2021, up by 250 million marka from the previous year, the country's central bank said on Thursday.
Switzerland and Turkey provided the highest inflow of FDI to Bosnia in 2021, some 210.8 million marka and 147 million marka respectively, the central bank said in a statement.
In terms of sectors, Bosnia's retail sector absorbed the highest part of FDI inflow, 172.9 million marka, followed by metal products manufacturing with 114.1 million marka and base metals production with 102.7 million marka.
The growth trend of reinvested profit of existing companies with foreign capital continued in 2021, although there was a significant increase in equity investments, the central bank said.
