BELGRADE (Serbia), February 23 (SeeNews) - FCA Srbija, a joint venture of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Group and the Serbian government, said it has produced the 500,000th unit of the Fiat 500L model at its factory in Kragujevac, central Serbia.

The company has been manufacturing the Fiat 500L model in Kragujevac since June 2012.

The Fiat 500L model has reached a market share of 22% in its segment in Europe and 52% in Italy in 2017, FCA Srbija said in a statement on Thursday.

The sales in January 2018 appear to be equally positive. In Europe, an increase of 5% was recorded in relation to the same period last year, while in Italy the market share in this category was over 50%, the carmaker said in the statement.

The 500,000th unit of Fiat 500L is of the Cross modification, equipped with a 1.6-liter Multijet 120-horsepower engine in bi-coloured Sicilian orange with a glossy black roof, FCA Srbija said.

FCA Group controls 67% of the capital of FCA Srbija through its subsidiary Fiat Group Automobiles (FGA), while the Serbian government owns the remainder.
