February 3 (SeeNews) - Austrian hotel operator Falkensteiner said it wil open in May a new congress and sports centre, Fortis Club, at its Punta Skala resort near Croatia's Adriatic city of Zadar.
Falkensteiner plans new investments worth 15 million euro ($16.6 million) in Punta Skala next year, after investing 3.0 million euro in the expansion of its new facilities in the past two years, the company said in a statement e-mailed to SeeNews on Friday.
It provided no details on the planned new investment but said that the positioning of the resort as a unique sports and environmental destination continues with the opening of the Fortis Club that will have a multifunctional hall of 527 sq m, with a capacity of up to 470 people, as well as a 800 sq m fitness center, a fun zone for all bowling, table football, billiard and e-gaming enthusiasts, and a sports shop, the company said.
"The Falkensteiner Punta Skala Resort has many sports facilities and attractions for our guests, many athletes are happy to return to their holidays, and the Zadarhalf triathlon, which is being held for the seventh time this year, has already become our trademark," Punta Skala general manager, Georg Unterkircher, said in the statement.
Falkensteiner runs hotels and campsites in Croatia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovakia.
