September 26 (SeeNews) - Silver Star, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Bulgaria, will offtake green electricity for its dealership centre in Plovdiv from a newly-commissioned grid-connected 390 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) installation, its developer, utility company EVN Bulgaria, said on Tuesday.
Silver Star will be able to sell back to the grid the excess output from the ground-mounted solar array, which is equipped with 722 panels and located near the village of Radinovo, EVN Bulgaria said in a press release without revealing the financial parameters of the project.

The utility company provided turnkey services for the site, namely the full range of services from the design of technical specifications for the project to its commissioning and start-up, over a period of some six weeks. This is the first solar array of this kind developed for a local client by EVN Bulgaria, it said.
"This is just the first of many such installations that we plan to build for our business clients who want to be part of the green transition in Bulgaria jointly with us," Alexander Sipek, chairman of the board of directors of EVN Bulgaria, said.
The utility distributes electricity and heating energy in nine regions in southern and southeastern Bulgaria and is owned by Austrian energy group EVN.
Silver Star is the official dealer of Mercedes-Benz automobiles and vans, Daimler Trucks, Daimler Buses and Ineos Grenadier 4X4. The company has dealership centres in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas.
