January 8 (SeeNews) - EVN Bulgaria, part of Austrian energy group EVN, said on Wednesday that it has completed the first stage of construction of its 11.6 million levs ($6.6 million/5.9 million euro) power substation in Plovdiv.
The equipment for the substation is also being manufactured currently, with the power transformer expected to be finished by the end of March, EVN Bulgaria said in a statement.
The substation has an installed capacity of 50 MVA with the option to be upgraded to 100 MVA.
EVN Bulgaria operates the power grid in southeastern Bulgaria through its unit Power Distribution South. The group also provides heating services through EVN Bulgaria Toplofikatsiya.
