November 24 (SeeNews) - EVN Bulgaria, part of Austrian energy group EVN, said that it has started the laying of a 1.8-km underground power cable that will connect the 11.6 million levs ($7 million /5.9 million euro) power substation Evmolpia, which is currently under construction, to the power grid.
Evmolpia power substation will initially have a capacity of 50 MVA, which could be increased to 100 MVA, EVN Bulgaria said in a statement.
The new power substation will improve the reliability of the power grid in the central and eastern part of Bulgaria's second largest city - Plovdiv.
