January 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian transport and logistics company EuroSpeed plans to invest 15 million euro ($16.9 million) in 2022 in putting together a digitalised truck fleet, targeting a greater ecological efficiency and road safety, it said.
The digitalised fleet consisting of DAF XF New Generation trucks and SCHMITZ Cargobull Eco Generation trailers will be the first in Bulgaria and one of the first in Europe, EuroSpeed said in a press release on Wednesday.
EuroSpeed's new truck-trailer combo will be tested loaded on the European roads this month.
Dutch truck maker DAF's new generation of trucks improves on fuel efficiency by 10%, reducing the carbon footprint. The trucks also feature better aerodynamics, dynamic digital cameras in place of rear view mirrors, as well as more comfort for drivers due to lower cabin noise, according to the press release. German trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull's newest trailers are also characterised with an innovative aerodynamic concept, helping to reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
EuroSpeed was founded in Sofia in 1994. It operates 200 cargo trucks on international and domestic routes and provides a complete set of logistics services.
