March 20 (SeeNews) - Three of the four main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed lower on Monday, with the blue-chip SOFIX falling below the 600-point mark, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX erased 1.81% to 595.64 points as energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] dropped by 7.14% to 1.30 levs, following the Romanian financial regulator's decision to revoke its subsidiary Euroins Romania's operating licence and file for bankruptcy proceedings on Friday.
The blue-chip index was additionally set back by poultry producer Gradus [BUL:GR6], which fell by 5.33% to 1.42 levs.
The BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, shed 1.22% to 138.28 points. It was pushed down by the losses at Eurohold and Gradus, along with a 5.26% tumble in diversified group Industrial Holding Bulgaria [BUL:IHB] to 1.80 levs.
Eurohold and Gradus also dragged down the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The index went down by 0.76% to 716.96 points, further dragged down by venture capital firm Eleven Capital [BUL:11C], which declined by 4.52% to 19.00 levs.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, was the only one to close in green territory, ticking up by 0.05% to 187.27 points. It was driven by a 0.92% increase in Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 3.28 levs, which offset a 1.90% loss at ROI Property Fund [BUL:RPF] to 7.75 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange fell to 1.80 million levs ($977,661/920,322 euro) on Monday from 2.74 million levs on Friday.
The top stock by turnover was Concord Fund-7 South-East Europe [BUL:CCR7], a national investment fund run by Concord Asset Management, which generated 1.02 million levs with 73,850 shares traded. The stock closed flat at 13.80 levs.
