March 7 (SeeNews) - Serbia signed an agreement with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) for a grant of 35 million euro ($37.3 million) for the construction of a children's hospital, the Serbian government said.
The donation represents a third of the funds needed for the construction of the hospital, public investments minister Marko Blagojevic was quoted as saying in a press release on Monday.
The Tirsova 2 hospital will span 66,000 sq m. The eleven-floor building will have about 300 beds.
Work on the foundations of the hospital has been completed and the construction of the new facility is due to begin by the end of spring, with the first patients expected to be admitted by the end of 2026.
