March 30 (SeeNews) - The European Union will award up to 350,000 euro ($380,000) in grants across eight Serbian municipalities to support the development of tourism, hospitality and winemaking activities, local media reported.
The grant will be distributed among 42 entrepreneurs, owners of wineries, providers of accommodation, restaurants, cafes and river transport companies in the lower Danube area, eastern Serbia and the municipality of Topola, who will use the funding to improve their business, the Danas media outlet reported on Wednesday.
The EU and the German government are financing the project, which is being implemented by German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Serbia's EU Cultural Heritage and Tourism programme.
