January 23 (SeeNews) - The European Union will award a grant totalling up to 200,000 euro ($218,000) across twelve projects in six Serbian municipalities to support creative and innovative ideas in the field of tourism and cultural heritage, Serbia's tourism ministry said.
These projects aim to enrich the tourist offer in an innovative and sustainable way, thus contributing to the economic development of local communities, the EU Projects in Serbia, an organisation run by the tourism ministry said in a press release last week.
The EU and German government are financing the project, which is being implemented by German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Serbia's EU Cultural Heritage and Tourism programme.
