April 28 (SeeNews) - The European Union (EU) is providing an additional grant of 45.2 million euro ($47.6 million) to Bosnia and Herzegovina for works on the Corridor Vc, the Delegation of EU to Bosnia said.
Out of the total amount, 36 million euro will be used to finance the ongoing construction works on the Poprikuse-Nemila section, while the remaining 9.2 million euro is an investment grant for the Ivan tunnel, the EU Delegation said in a press release on Wednesday.
The grant funds have been secured through the EU-supported Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).
To date, the EU has invested more than 500 million euro in the Corridor Vc construction.
Corridor Vc is a pan-European transport project and the section in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 325 kilometres long, will cross the country from north to south, connecting the Adriatic port of Ploce in Croatia with the Hungarian capital Budapest.
The motorway is co-financed from the EU through grants and loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
