August 29 (SeeNews) - Etex Romania Building Performance, owner of the Siniat brand and part of the Belgium-based building materials group Etex, said on Tuesday that it is investing 28 million euro ($30.2 million) in a new drywall factory.
The production facility near Bucharest is to be commissioned in 2025, Etex Romania said in a press release.
Once completed, the factory will employ some 80 people and will be Etex's third production unit in Romania. The new project brings Etex's total investments in Romania close to 100 million euro.
"Proximity to Bucharest, one of the cities with the most construction activity in recent years and the most important industrial center in Romania, will bring us closer to the moment when we will be able to use drywall recovered from construction sites as raw material, thus encouraging a sustainable approach in the chain," said Andrei Popa, Director General Romania and Southeast Europe for Etex.
In Romania, the Etex Group currently operates two construction materials production facilities - one in Aghiresu and one in Turceni, in the southwestern county of Gorj, where it employs 220 people.
