May 16 (SeeNews) - Belgian-owned building materials manufacturer Etex Building performance announced on Friday it had recorded a 20% year-on-year turnover increase in 2021 on the Romanian market, to a total of 295 million Romanian lei ($62.15 million, 59.63 million euro).
Operating under the Siniat Romania brand, Etex Building Performance attributed the growth to the positive impact of the residential, industrial, and logistics construction sectors in Romania.
As part of the press release, the company also said it associated 2021’s performance with supply chain improvements, as well as the development of an Inside Sales department responsible for addressing the needs of partners effectively.
Etex Building performance also announced it is expecting a 3-5% further increase in turnover in 2022, on account of a rebound of the construction sector.
“Our strategy identified the segments with the highest growth potential in advance and we were able to take calibrated action in order to maximise impact. At the same time, we capitalised upon the favourable evolution of the market, which was above expectations,” said Andrei Popa, Commercial Director for Romania & SEE at Etex Building Performance.
In 2021, the company invested 1 million euro ($1.04 million) in improving the logistics capacity of the Turceni and Aghiresu manufacturing plants, along with debuting the gypsum recovery project from its Rovinari plant and refurbishing the packaging process in the Aghiresu plant. The company aims to finalise the gypsum recovery project by the end of 2022.
Over the course of last year, Etex Building Performance products were used as part of several notable construction projects from the Romanian market, such as AFI Tech Park, Marmura Residence, Hotel Autograph Collection, or Prahova Value Center.
The company had also posted a 10% year-on-year rise in turnover over the first half of 2021, to a total of 145 million Romanian lei.
Etex Building Performance is part of the Etex Group, a Belgian group focused on construction materials and construction solutions. The Group is active in 44 countries and employs more than 17,000 staff, working across 121 manufacturing plants.
