September 5 (SeeNews) - German utility group E.ON said on Monday it has budgeted 763 million lei ($157 million/ 158 million euro) investments for 2022, up from 644 million lei invested in 2021.
The company is accelerating investment in the modernization, expansion and digitization of networks, E.ON said in its 2021 sustainability report.
E.ON also plans to increase the degree of digitization of its services.
"We will develop more products and continue our journey to prosumers, providing solutions for photovoltaic generation, e-mobility and many others. We will also continue expanding the natural gas network, trying to accelerate the pace of its development," E.ON Romania CEO Volker Raffel said in the report.
In 2021, E.ON Romania invested 644 million lei, up 24% year-on-year and double compared to 2019. During last year, the company focused on building new networks and modernizing the existing ones, while also improving the automation of processes and the digitization of existing solutions.
The company's revenues in Romania rose by 25% on the year to 7.78 billion lei in 2021, according to the report.
In June 2020, E.ON said that it plans to invest about 375 million euro ($372 million) in Romania during the 2020-2023 period through its two local subsidiaries Delgaz Grid and E.ON Energie Romania.
Delgaz Grid and E.ON Energie Romania employ 7,012 people and serve about 3.3 million customers.
