July 22 (SeeNews) - The Energy Community, a Vienna-based international energy policy organisation, opened dispute settlement procedures against Serbia, North Macedonia and Kosovo for failing to transpose European legislation in line with the deadlines foreseen by the Energy Community acquis.
Serbia has failed to adopt the measures necessary to implement the decisions incorporating the Connection Network Codes, which set the requirements for grid connection of generators, high voltage direct current systems and direct current-connected power park modules as well as demand connection, the Energy Community Secretarit said in a statement. The deadline was July 12, 2018.
North Macedonia missed the November 29, 2019 deadline for transposing the REMIT Regulation which sets the rules for ensuring wholesale energy market integrity and transparency.
Kosovo failed to transpose by the January 1, 2019 deadline the Environmental Impact Assessment Directive.
The Energy Community is an international organisation established between the European Union and non-EU member-states to extend the bloc's internal energy market to Southeast Europe and beyond.
