BELGRADE (Serbia), September 12 (SeeNews) – Belgian renewable energy group Elicio officially launched the 42 MW Alibunar wind farm in Serbia on Tuesday, energy minister Aleksandar Antic said.
"This is the largest individual energy facility that has been connected to the grid since 1991 and represents the beginning of an exceptional investment cycle," Antic said in a video file posted on the website of Tanjug news agency.

An additional installed capacity of 200 MW of wind power will be launched in Serbia by the end of this year, Antic added.
Elicio started the construction of the Alibunar wind farm in October and invested a total of 72.6 million euro ($84.3 million) in the project, the company said earlier this year.
The Alibunar wind farm consists of 21 turbines, each with a nominal power of 2.0 MW, that will develop their maximum output at a wind speed of 11 m/s. Underground 33 kV cables connect the turbines to the medium voltage network at a 33 kV station and through a 33/110 kV transformer specially built for the wind farm.
Serbia has committed to satisfying 27% of its energy consumption from renewable energy sources by 2020.
