November 22 (SeeNews) - The Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) day-ahead market recorded a new all-time high price of electricity for industrial consumers, of 504.30 levs ($290.87/257.84 euro) per MWh for Monday, market data showed.
Last week, IBEX set two consecutive price records, at 485.22 levs per MWh on Wednesday and at 494.74 levs per MWh on Thursday.
Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission has forecast the electricity price for the July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 period at 119 levs per MWh. However, since the start of October, the average price has been more than three times higher, at 380.88 levs.
IBEX, established in 2014, holds a ten-year licence for organising an electricity exchange in Bulgaria. IBEX is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, which acquired the company in 2017.
