September 14 (SeeNews) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing a 50 million euro ($50 million) loan to North Macedonia to improve the country's water infrastructure, local media reported on Wednesday.
North Macedonia’s government requested the loan back in 2018, but the EIB Board approved it only in May, news website Faktor reported.
The government has said that the loan will be used for rehabilitation, modernisation, expansion and construction of water supply infrastructure throughout the country.
Last week, the country's finance ministry said that the EIB will provide a 100 million euro investment loan to North Macedonia in support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a focus on the green economy.
