SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), March 7 (SeeNews) – The European Investment Bank (EIB) said on Friday it is considering providing a 100 million euro ($137 million) loan to co-finance the conduction of a 21-kilometre motorway section Pocitelj-Bijaca in Bosnia’s Muslim Croat Federation.
The project, whose total cost is estimated at 210 million euro, is part of Corridor Vc which connects the Croatian coast to Hungarian capital Budapest via Bosnia, the EIB said in a statement.
The project is expected to facilitate trade, develop tourism, promote regional and national economic growth and contribute to economic and social cohesion in the region, it said.
The loan should be provided to state motorway company of Bosnia's Federation, JP Autoceste FBiH.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
