July 9 (SeeNews) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a 340 million euro ($385 million) loan for the construction of the Poprikuse - Medakovo motorway section on Corridor Vc in Bosnia, Bosnian motorways operator Autoceste FBiH said on Thursday.
The EIB has also approved a grant application towards the construction of the 36-kilometre Poprikuse - Medakovo section, Autoceste FBiH said in a statement without providing information about the size of the grant.
The section is divided into two lots - from Poprikuse to Ozimice and from Ozimice to Medakovo.
The preparation of the main project design for the Medakovo - Ozimice is underway, while for the Ozimice - Poprikuse section Autoceste FBiH is in the process of selecting a designer to draft the main project design, the company said.
With the approved loan, Autoceste FBiH has secured the complete financing for building the Bosnian section of Corridor Vc from the central city of Zenica to the north.
European transport Corridor Vc has a total length of 700 km and connects the Adriatic port of Ploce in Croatia with Budapest in Hungary via Bosnia. Its length in Bosnia is some 340 km.
