SERBIA GETS EIGHT VALID BIDS FOR TELCO STAKE, SHORTLIST SEEN BY AUG 17
Eight valid bids have been submitted for the privatisation of incumbent telco Telekom Srbija, the country's telecommunications minister Rasim Ljajic said on Wednesday.
The decision on which bidders will be shortlisted to proceed to the next phase of the sale process will be made by August 17, Ljajic was quoted as saying on the website of the telecommunications ministry.

OTP EYES UNITS OF GREEK BANKS IN BALKAN REGION
Hungarian banking group OTP said on Friday it is hoping that opportunities for acquisitions will come up on Balkan markets where Greek banks are now operating.
OTP will seriously consider opportunities for acquisitions in Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania and intends to expand where Greek lenders have a presence, the Hungarian group's press office confirmed for SeeNews in an email.

CEMEX SELLING CROATIAN OPERATIONS TO HEIDELBERGCEMENT UNIT
Cement producer Cemex said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement to sell to Hungarian peer Duna-Drava Cement its operations in Croatia, including its assets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.
According to the agreement, the assets, consisting of three cement plants, two aggregate quarries and seven ready-mix plants, will be sold for approximately 230.9 million euro ($256.97 million), Cemex said in a statement.

ROMANIA'S GDP RISES 3.7% Y/Y IN H1 - FLASH ESTIMATE

SERBIA'S HEMOFARM GETS ANTI-TRUST NOD TO TAKE OVER IVANCIC&SINOVI
Serbia's anti-trust regulator said it has cleared plans by local drug maker Hemofarm, a unit of Germany's Stada, to fully take over Belgrade-based peer Ivancic&Sinovi.
The anti-trust ruling, taken on August 4, indicates Hemofarm signed a letter of intent for the takeover of Ivancic&Sinovi in July. Data from Serbia's business register indicated Ivancic&Sinovi DOO is 51%-owned by Bulgarian drug maker Sopharma [BUL:3JR] with the balance held by the Ivancic family.
